Horror movies I like
When it comes to horror movies I enjoy the films that stick to the usual conventions of horror - adding/creating fear, use of dark colours, showing a lot of blood etc. Horror movies in my opinion should stick to the gore and making people want to squeal with disgust, feel incredibly uncomfortable and almost making them ask the question to themselves, "why did I even agree to watch this??"
Horror movies with a romantic relationship involved seems too cliche to me. For me it should add a bit of excitement and adrenaline as well fear to what will happen next. Will the lead die? Who's the murderer? Not "will that couple be together in the end of the film?". This is not a romantic film y'all. However, though I love being disturbed when watching a horror film, the best I've got to say are the psychological thrillers. Sometimes it's better when it has an actual storyline to it that almost seem plausible, especially with a dude that's messed up in the head but still manages to instil fear.
Here are a few of my all time favourite horror movies (click on title of film for wiki link):
- Shaun of the Dead
- Saw
- Paranormal Activity
- Dog Soldiers
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre
- The Hills Have Eyes
- Haunting in Connecticut
- Exorcism of Emily Rose
- Child's Play
Some of my favourites include the supernatural, the usual bloodshed and comedy. But the best movies which always messes up my mind and makes me afraid to sleep without the lights on are the paranormal movies. The many times I have hid under my bed covers... *embarrassed emoji face*
